Natural Resources & Energy Special Interest Group Launched

On 26 October 2018, APA launched its first Special Interest Group - Natural Resources & Energy. Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are signature programs in APA Chapters to link APA with technology and policy and to promote technical excellence among APA graduates and technical professional members. SIGs provide a platform that engages members in exploring and discussing particular areas of focus and interest. While each SIG differs in structure, the services that they are able to provide are theoretically the same; including (but not limited to) presenting technical workshops, establishing or joining technology task forces and industry forums, providing technical responses to issues that are affecting our communities, and keeping APA members up to date on industry-specific and policy trends.

APA protects its “crown jewels”

Our acronym “APA” and logo have finally been trademarked with IP Australia. Furthermore, our conferences, seminars, and workshops brand “Succeeding Beyond Borders” has also been successfully trademarked. The decision to protect these brands was necessitated by the remarkable nation-wide growth of the African Professionals of Australia Limited since inception 15 years ago. Starting off in 2007 as an “Association” entity in Western Australia, exclusively for Western Australians, African Professionals of Australia popularly known as “APA” has since grown to a “Company” entity. We now have active presence in all the Australian States and Territories. Credit goes to our members, sponsors, and partners who have contributed immensely to building our brands.
